9. Runaround

You can’t catch him,
he runs too fast.
Got a different girl
on every Dakota rez.
Landline calling,
they don’t know
they’ll never catch him.

Smooth skin,
smooth lines,
freshly cut hairdo.
He’s the son of a politician,
we all heard about him.
He’s got dance regalia
hanging in his closet.

When you saw him
standing in the starting line-up
of the boys basketball game,
you never knew,
you’ll never catch him,
he runs too fast.
